Adams Creek Recreation Area

This 9-acre site is located off Starvation Road in Hayes, Va. The long, narrow parcel provides waterfront access to Adams Creek and the marshlands on the creek’s banks. The upland region of the property consists of mixed pine and hardwoods. Both the high and low marsh appears to be healthy, and the lowland offers the possibility for vernal pools in the spring used for amphibian reproduction. Buttresses at the base of trees suggest the lowland remains wet for significant portions of the year.
